HGVs are perfectly safe vehicles...

But surely if you into a car even if your driving a lorry you would feel a bump or would feel you need to put your foot down more to keep your speed up.

I've never driven a lorry before, but I gather that he didn't really feel it, if he did, then he'd think it's just the road a little bumpy.
