I don't like to disagree with coppi, but I'm not certain this is a pashley princess sort of ride, yeah the pace isn't that fast and its not a race, but the empty roads, put the sprint lust into the legs and people do go haring off, and the desire to be at the front sprinting with the rest will overcome you. So the pace sort of jumps and slows.
Make of that what you will. Always very difficult to say to someone what the pace of a ride is going to be because it generally depends on the riders who are on it.
