  • d) Weapon support group

  • scared to go out alone lest the fixie skidders give them stick for their ridiculous clothing
or they were heading out for a mutual back patting session congratulating each other on their choice of clothing

  • probably celebrating team sky's first win in europe yesterday
    wearing team colours
like footie fans after their teams win a big game

    Don't believe the BBC!

Flecha won Het Volk (or Het Nieuwsblad as it is now) a couple of weeks ago. Last time I checked Belgium was in Europe.

  • you are more likely to see 3 hipsters riding together carrying massive courier bags (empty), badly fitting bikes and plastic aero wheels worth more than their stovepipe 531 conversion.
    is this

    a) the hipster apocalypse riding into the mainstream of social consciousness
    b) a photo shoot for Nike
    c) students who got the date wrong for critical mass but thought they would "bomb some hills" anyway

  • You sound bitter?

  • You sound bitter?

not at all. i'm laughing my head off!

  • Looking at both categories I feel mutually excluded :(

  • Can you make one up for paniers and racks, MrSmyth?

  • Saw 3 or so riders yesterday crossing southwark bridge towards waterloo, all on condor bikes, all in rapha gear. One of them a girl.
    Was this

    a) The bloody fanclub
    b) A sponsored team
    c) the condor staff night out

raffa staff out for a ride

it happens you know, some people who work for a cycling clothing company go out and ride their bikes

if you pay me then yes possibly maybe if i feel like it but probably not ever.

  • I just got a new Classic Softshell. Yay for Rapha's lifetime warranty!
It's very nice but not that pricey due to massive discount.

(For those that are unaware, the last time I went to Rollapaluzza some Italian girl knocked over a candle onto my splendid lightweight softshell and set it on fire. I just got round to sending the destroyed garment to Rapha, who have a lifetime repair warranty. As it was unrepairable and the lightweight is no longer made they offered me anything else for a big discount)

  • That is actually cool.

    ps. Damn you, XL/XS people.

  • how can people afford to wear rapha ?

  • Sells car and remortgages house.

Your lucky. I got some legwarmers from the sale. The zip broke after a week and a half. They said they dont do replacements for sale items. I know they legwarmers were only £15 but it is still not good enough for a week and a halfs where.

  • how can people afford to wear rapha ?

Buy it in the fairly-frequent samples sales.

But in the grand scheme of things, Rapha's not that expensive when you compare it to cars, designer suits, holidays and other such middle-class paraphenalia.

I can't wait for the Littlewoods to sell Rapha. I've got account with them. I'll pay later :-)

  • My cap is fading. More grey than black now. I don't really see worn and torn Rapha gear on the streets, is it the done thing just to buy another new one? If so I'm going to have to get a loan.

    Send it back for refurbishment.

  • Do they do that? Awesome.

That's clearly where the money goes.

  • Not sure if they do that on hats, but my long sleeved baselayer went back to them earlier this year as the stitching on the cuffs had gone. They repaired it and returned it to me within a week.

  • Well, in fact, the money goes into Mr Big Rapha's Big Pockets. Not much room left in there, I would guess, after a successful career in the city followed by a few years copying vintage cycle clothing and flogging it off to "market segments" who buy things because they are expensive. All that ersatz art photography and never-mind-the-price-just-feel-my-huge-passion-for-cycling schtick... I'd rather wear a shell suit.

  • Not great for cycling in though, are they!

    Not this.
