what's wrong with radial front? - it would break easier in a collision maybe but who gives a toss? i'm more worried about my face in a collision than my front wheel which will be written off either way - my radial fronts have always been just as stiff and light as my 1/2/3 cross wheels but look pretty.

In theory they go out of tru quicker though, because the tension/de-tension cycle is more extreme when the spokes are perpendicular to the rim.
They may even be stiffer as you can lace the entire wheel heads-in for improved bracing angle [/nerd]
