• I don't think wanting the driver punished is over the top. Even if she didn't go out with the intention to deliberately drive into a cyclist what she did do was drive in such a way that it happened. A reasonable punishment is appropriate given she took a ton and a half of car out into a shared public environment and drove it in a careless and irresponsible way. If there is never any punishment for driving in that way then then the message is as long as you claim to be upset you don't have to worry about looking out for more vulnerable road users. It would be nice if she learnt from it but I don't fancy the idea of tackling that type of driving by waiting for each careless driver to injure a cyclist so we can send them on a cycle awareness course.

    I don't really care if she sees this thread and is upset by it, she deserves to be upset, she got a shock and had a bit of a cry, but she catapulted Ufrasia 30 odd feet across tarmac, she bloody well should be upset about that.

About
