I’m currently riding a Pearson’s Touché and for a while now have been saving for a new frame. In the meantime my company signed-up to Evans’ ride-to-work scheme. Didn’t want any of the complete bikes, so bought a crap bike to use for the pub and splashed out on a few new components for the Touché that I could put on a new frame as/when I scrape together enough pennies for it
Alongside a few other bits I picked up a Mavic Ellipse wheelset. After getting the Mavic lockring (why it doesn’t come with the wheels I don’t know...) and an EAI cog, I’ve been looking an new chainsets. A guy at work has a new (’09) Campag Pista chainset, English thread, for sale at a reasonable price
I’ve been thinking about getting it, but am a bit concerned about chain alignment, had a look at the transmission DB but couldn’t find the same set-up. Also I’ve read the Pista BB doesn’t have road seals.
Does anyone have an idea if this combination would work? And are the track BB’s ok for road use?
