• recently bought a pair of them myself (aerowarrior) they seem alrite, haven't really given them a good beating but the back is slightly out of true thanks to my shit 180's, but i am only running 32s so maybe with wider tyres they would hold up better. They are pretty cheap and also pretty easy to find which is always good.

Nice, yeah they seem alright. What spoke count have you got?

  • just 32's i would have got 36 but i have a 32hole velo solo bolt on sprocket hub and i love it so didn't want to have to change the hubs.

  • am i right in saying they dont make scissors in a large?? 54.5cm will be too small i fear :/

look at the geometry, its got a beefy top tube. 54.5 just means you have to have a lot of seatpost exposed.

  • Anyone know where i can pick up 48h goldtecs? does 14 still have them knocking about?

  • can you order direct through betd website?

  • nope no 48h available unless im missing something

  • Call betd, they'll hook you up. No extra charge.

  • cheers man thanks

  • Im looking to put bmx cranks on my charge scissor, im on a budget so i cant spend loads. has anyone got any recommendations? also are there any compatibility issues, some cranks are marked mid bb and others not and i have no clue as to what this means and if it will fit my frame. any help?

  • You'll need a euro BB. Profile are the industry standard, and a splined sprocket seems to be the way to go (available from Tree and Profile)

  • if you want something a bit cheaper than the profiles (90 quid)
then go for the gusset pigmy (around 60 quid)
id go for a profile imperial sprocket (30ish quid)
like jammy said, you need a euro bb.

  • Theres options in the euro bb 19mm and 22mm??

  • look up the scissor geometry and this will tell you the cup sizing for the bb
    i think...
and its a euro bmx bb, just to clarify :)

  • splined is the way to go but that does mean you will have to drop a wedge, profile and demolition seem to be the preferred cranks in the fgfs world

  • Stick to a 19mm spindle. It's the standard (and the one the splined sprockets fit on)

  • listing removed?
    nah not strong enough mate

  • They're machined at anything under 48h, but they're STRONG and eyeleted. And can take nice fat tyres.

  • i've run splined and destroyed one in a short time (tree are replacing it), but i went back to a bolt on (with larger bolt head). also tried 22mm axle, but the bearings chewed out, back to standard 19mm although some people believe the bearings in these are to small. hence why some people are making the frames with o/s bmx press in bearing bb's ie teds own frame at the moment.

  • how much should i be paying for a good set that will last me a decent while? considering i'm new to this i might not be able to build them so easily but would definitely give it a shot.

  • 48h wheelz are easier to build than 32 IMO

  • Does having massively wide tyres affect your ability to keo? or is there little change.

Sure does. So does tyre pressure

  • Anyone know where to get demolitions on the cheap?
