Thanks for the replies.
Moog: What you've got there would definitely be an improvement. Those bikes are pretty rad. I shall measure my child properly and let you know. But I have a feeling she should be riding something bigger.
Mechamorgan: Lulz.
Crumb: This sounds ideal - would be great if you could send over a few pics. Switching to PM...
Apologies for the title: this transaction could go one of a few ways.
My daughter is too big for her bike now. She'll be six in May. So we have a bike we no longer need, and a bike we need that we don't have yet.
Offered:
A Probike BMX. 12" diameter wheels (measured between outer edges of the tyre). the seat's currently 22" from the floor - that's probably as high as you'd want to take it. Lowest the seat could go from the floor would be about 15". Let me know if you'd like me to measure other distances (between parts of the bike). Brakes work fine front and rear. There's no marks on it and it's pretty shiny. Think the chain may be touching the guard somewhere because it makes a slightly guttural whirring noise as it goes. I never investigated the cause: the sound is fairly innocuous. I have some stabilisers you can have with it.
A glance on ebay reveals these go for about 20-40 quid 2nd hand and 70 squantos new.
Wanted:
A bigger bike. Islabike / something nice. Open to suggestions. I think it should be 20" (though admit to being baffled by bike measurements in general)
I'm in Hackney.
Holla.
