there's nothing wrong with lhd, my mate used to ride around town the same and it makes no difference. It's most likely for off road and urban tricks because of the chunkier tires

now that bolt on is becoming more common, not that weird, just flip the wheel and cranks over. potential problems may occur as the left hand chainstay is unlikely to be crimped so larger c'rings may foul on it.

got to be tricks rather than offroad, that geo would be a prick on mud and bumps and the likes

You need to try it first, nothing wrong with that geometry off road. Have you ridden a cross bike for example? Very road based geometry yet great for fast off road rides.
