i bought it and rode it a couple of times, since then (8 months ago) it's been sat in my mum's garage waiting until i had money to spend on it. so can't quite remember whether it's 8 speed. it's too new a groupset to be 7 speed and too old to be 9 from the little i know about gears and groupset evolution

oof, that seems a good deal, interesting...
I bought a Fausto Coppi k28 last year, rode it for a while but was having issues with the gears dropping. Friend serviced it for me but quickly deteriorated. The chainring and cassette are pretty worn. Its a mix of old shimano 105 and shimano 600 (ultegra) and is 8 speed (i think).
Would ideally like to swap out the groupset for something new and was looking at sram rival (would prefer sram/shimano over campy). Is this the best groupset to be looking at for performance/cost payoff? at round 440 it seems a good deal. is it worth looking at second hand higher spec gear?
is anyone familiar with Arsis components?
