Oooh looked at a flat in Raynes Park, nice area. The only one I have hit up that's even remotely close is Geoffery Butler in Croydon but that's a tram ride away. I think there is an Action Bikes in Wimbledon.

After several months of lurking, here I am registered, prompted by your post, so thank you for asking.
There are several good-ish ones nearby. Not too sure about the one nearest you near the railway station, but it's worth visting:
Smith Bros on Chrurch Road in Wimbledon Village. Sells his own brand of re-badged MTBs and quite a few second hand bikes. Worth checking out for '80s racers in need of conversion.
Action Bikes on Wimbledon Broadway is OK-ish in an Action Bikes kind of way.
Star of the show is AW Cycles on Merton High St. Propoer oily finger nails and overalls set up. They sell laughably crap bikes, but very good spares. On a good day he'll let you have a rummage through his spares box.
Moose Cycles in Colliers Wood is mainly MTBs, but he knows his onions and is a pretty low pressure kind of dude.
And if it's a Sunday, and you need specialist kit like an inner tube or a dust cap, Halfords at Shannon Corner (on the way to New Malden) will sort you out.Oh, and welcome to Merton.

So he can be spotted riding, "monkey humping a football style" between SW19 and Grays Inn Rd

If you're moving to Raynes Park, there's a good lbs on the corner of a row of shops opposite the station, couple of helpful and knowledgeable chaps run it, helped me out with some free advice when i've needed it.

+1 Moose are great guys, I bought my first fixed from them.
Action Cycles in Wimb are also ok - lot better than they used to be.I've never been to AW but always mean to, it looks like the place you could walk in and ask for an inverse shim and he'd rumage through a cardboard box and produce one..

Clef, AW are hardly ever open, but when they are the old boys are usually quite friendly.
With a combined age of about 600 (there's only two of them). One of those guys remembers riding at HH on the old surface with the white picket fence and everyone was using wooden rims. Good place for odd sized seatposts, well used to be probably sold out by now.

Thanks for the local knowledge everyone, always good to have personal recommendations of these places! All these shops have a tough act to follow as my current LBS of choice is Brixton Cycles

Worth checking out for '80s racers in need of conversion. It's where I got my first bicycles (second hand emmelle or summat), they're decent bloke and are worth checking out, it's a very small shop and don't expect a good selection of bicycle parts.
Action Bikes on Wimbledon Broadway is OK-ish in an Action Bikes kind of way.
That's 10 second ride from my home, they're ok, the staff are those who not exactly knowledgeable in cycling, but the mechanic is a top bloke who know his stuff.

1+. crap bikes (just to keep the business going), but top bloke.

I'm in the market for a tourer and visited Smiths Bros and AW Cycles this morning. A couple of great bike shops, Smiths helpful staff and gave me a test ride on a Raleigh Gran Tour. Not many bikes in AW but I'll definitely go back for repairs / spares; top bloke.

Just had dealings with Action Bikes recently. Very reasonable price for a very good retruing and spoke tensioning of a heavily buckled carbon laminate wheel.
At the very least the mechanic (that I dealt with) really knows his stuff, and in the past has been happy to give advice on home/diy bike repairs/problems. Shop assistants friendly and seem clued up enough. Can't vouch for their bike range or range of readily available parts although I've occasionally got 2nd hand parts and shims etc. from the mechanic before.
Probably worth popping in to at least

And they're a LOOK dealership now.
I'm moving from Dulwich to Raynes Park in a couple of weeks and just wondering if anyone has some local knowledge on a decent LBS in the wimbledon area? Putney Cycles is about 4 miles away so doesn't really count as local!
