Subject: Fatal road traffic collision
Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic
collision in Hackney.
Police were called around 08.40 hrs on Wednesday 10 March to reports of a
tipper lorry in collision with a pedal cyclist in Lauriston Road, Hackney,
E9. London Ambulance Service attended and the cyclist was pronounced dead
at the scene.
We believe we know the identity of the dead woman who was 28 yrs old but
she has not yet been formally identified.
A post mortem examination and inquest will open in due course.
The driver of the tipper truck was taken to hospital suffering from shock.
The incident is being investigated by the Collision Investigation Unit at
Chadwell Heath .
Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact the unit on 020
