One of the problems with our chosen watering hole for our meets is the fact that the beer is great but food is properly expensive. I would eat out but generally choose to eat at home first due to the prohibitive cost, this then delays my arrival. If I pick up dinner on the way home then I get in really late and go to bed with full stomach, which I don't find massively pleasant. Can't speak for everyone but i would assume for many the case is the same.
What I am proposing is that we put our heads together and find an eatery that is relatively local, where we can all roll up between 10 and 11pm after a few pints and get a good meal for under a fiver.
Right, I'm gonna start the suggestions with Anatolia Ocakbasi on Mare Street - just up from the intersection of Well street & Mare. They do fantastic kebabs, lahmacun (like a turkish pizza), have vege options, great salads and serve beer should you want another. IMO they are one of the best turkish restaurants in london and are fantastically cheap. The restaurant is also quiet after 10, there are a couple of bike hoops outside for locking to and a picnic table outside if peeps want a take-away option (cheaper again).
So, what dy'as reckon and any other locale suggestions?
Got an idea me fellow easties:
