Disclaimer: Haven´t ridden both, nor inspected the frames closely so don´t know which one is better qualitiy.
The bikes are very simmilar. I would take the Fuji for several reasons. The cranks are shorter on the small sizes, the bottom bracket is higher and the geometry a little "spotier" in all sizes. Also it´s much cheaper. I think the Langster is better quality with its chromed front and rear and slightly better parts. I also think it looks better. But the Fujis geometry just makes more sense and I think it´s awesome value for money. -

ah. theyre the same price, £500. at least they are at e*ans. cant find anywhere else that has the feather in at the moment. cheers though

Oh, here in Germany there is a 150€ (130 GBP) pricediffrence. I would still take the Fuji because i like the geometry better.

Is it not just a 08/09 fuji track with a few different bits?
-
• #11
The bits look the same as well
-
• #12
Its a Foffa'd FujiTrakc
-
• #13
Darius, if you want a Fuji buy mine ;)
-

Frame is the same. Fork, headset, stem, handelbars, seatpost, saddle, cranks and wheels are diffrent.

sorry you're right - i'm thinking of the fuji 'classic' - the headtibe is 1" so the frame must be different as well - unless they've dug out the 06/07 models. I love the Fuji Track frame - it's awesome.

It looks decent for an OTP, but don' you think it looks to nice for a potential thief?
If you want a commuter, build a simple beater from an old frame, respray at armourtex or at vaz's - keep it simple. It will cost you ca. 200-300. -
• #17
agreed - leaving outside is best reserved for a beater - or at least 'stealth' beater (i.e looks alot worse than actually is)

has anyone actually ridden one/given it a good poke? i've been thinking about getting the 2010 feather too, but switching the wheels so i'm not that bothered if the otp wheelset is pony, but have heard mostly good things, until the dude from blb said it was pony so he's not stocking it.
i'd probably also change a fair amout of the rest in time, so i'm more concerned about the frame quality/build/geometry...

pony pony pony.

Saw one the other day in Evans. Looked cheap. Shame, as looks pretty on the website

my mate bought one from evans at our neck of the woods (york) he just bought and and is already pulling it to bits , changing stuff, cheap flexy wheels, bad bearings, cheapy cheap cheap build quality , basically the only thing he was happy with was the tight clearance in the back end...sorry to dissapoint you.

cool, cheers guys. after comparing the spec. to the 2010 classic track, geometry and material wise, the frame is identical. obviously the feather has a different stem set up as its threaded, but the only substantial difference between the bikes seems to be the wheel set, which is all own brand, and as you guys say, is shite. might be better off getting the track and switching the wheels on that badboy then...

I got the '10 Classic Track from Ben at Cycleworx (brilliant service!) a few weeks ago to coincide with Herne Hill opening, had him whack on my front brake and lever so i could get it home, changed the tyres and pedals straight away, and it's been great so far.
The chumpions at BLB wanted £500 for a '09 fuji track... which was £170 more than Evans (and £100 more than RRP!)... but for a tiny bit more than Evans I got a new one, fitted up professionally, by someone who actually gives a damn when i wave money around.
hello all. am a longtime lurker and a relatively new poster.
already have a nice old carlton that sleeps with me. been looking for a cheapish OTP that am happy to leave outside my office/flat etc.
stumbled across this fuji feather http://www.fujibikes.com/LifeStyle/ClassicSeries/Feather.aspx but cant really find anything about it on here. i have UTFS'ed and theres just a single reference to it looking like a se lager. its about a kilo lighter than the steel langster and also less lame imho. just wondering whether the langster steel is superior in any/all ways....
if anyone knows anything about it/has seen one/got any thoughts would be much appreciated.
cheers
