I've got this 'out there' theory that perhaps there are too many lorries on London's roads, and that maybe they're often driven irresponsibly, and that they're perhaps involved in ridiculous projects funded by taxpayers that ultimately have a negative impact on local communities, and that it's possible some authorities don't give a fuck about cyclists and pedestrians, and and and AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Quick reminder of the objectives published by the Mayor yesterday:
To ensure the growth of cycling in London is accompanied by a reduced rate of cycling casualties.
To increase the perception that cycling is a safe and attractive transport option
To make progress towards achieving existing and future targets for reducing cyclists killed or seriously injured
To ensure London continues to be a world leader in developing effective cycling safety improvements, underpinned by analysis and a sound understanding of the causes of collisions

Funny how he's only knocking that up now in preparation for his money making London Velo scheme

not again!

Can't believe this. I've cycled since I was a small kid but am beginning to get a 'fear' on my bike and I hate that.
What ever the Mayor is doing isn't working. How can he fund the cycle scheme with £111m yet cut the safety budget by £10m?? How comes FORS costs money to join? Tipper firms are often broke and can't afford to join. It's just blue paint - not wider safer lanes. It's all backwards. Now is not the time to discuss I guess. My thoughts are with this girls family. I'm so sorry they have to go through this. RIP. -

Terrible, heard about it earlier this morning. If deaths occur on consecutive days, it somehow increases the perception of their impact even though they would have been equally as tragic months apart.
Lauriston Road roundabout isn't the worst place for cycling, but of course a completely stupid junction design as part of the Victoria Park Road motorway access route one-way gyratory.
Rest in peace.

Thoughts & prayers to friends & family
Just heard from a friend that there has been a fatality of a cyclist in the Victoria Park area?
A friend just witnessed it and she's pretty shaken up so can't give any more details over the phone.
Has anyone got any more details/ seen anything?
