BBQ Bike

Just starting to look at making a BBQ bike for the coming summer. As I am the eternal optimist when it comes to the dutch “dry season”……..
I was going to use an old dutch mens city frame as the base for this contraption with the BBQ at the front and storage at the back.
Has anyone tried this before and has some wise tips before I head on into this project?

yeah that was along the lines i was thinking.
how much do you think i need to worry about the heat from the BBQ base to the front tyre?

Should be ok with a double layer in the bottom of the bbq (a hollow air space) and also a metal plate beneath the bbq.

i know that with a project like this weight shouldnt really be the top consideration but i also dont want to be riding a tank around! so any other ideas how i could reduce the transfer of heat to the wheel?
i was thinking of some kind of flame retardant material i can get hold of nomex any ideas if this would do the job or should i find an insulator to go with it?

Get your mates to carry the coal, meat and man cooking tools etc.

Nomex should work fine as a heatshield me thinks, no need for any additional insulation.

OK then, get that bike going.

just trying to find the base frame now found a great butchers bike in york just need to find a way to get it to amsterdam.......

there is enough bikes in amsterdam i guess, dont the police sell confiscated bikes from theyre lot?

just looked it up, they do but not to civilians,

anyway when the bike is finished and the weather is good, you gonna take the bike to the polospot?

yes i was talking about AFAC, i live in rotterdam tho, cant play very often in amsterdam
