  • I saw this in 3D on friday, and i must say it was probably one of the worst if not the THE WORST FILM I HAVE EVER SEEN!

I have never felt so bored watching a film, if it hadnt been for the fact i was watching it with friends i would have left after 10 mins.

Avatar was well and trully utter bullshit.

Here is a review written by someone who describes exactly how i felt about the whole film

Seriously what a piece of shit. I promised myself to not buy into the hype because 95% of the time I end up disappointed, so I didn't buy into any of the hype surrounding this movie and I was still disappointed.

The plot is lifted directly from Dances with Wolves but with a shitty, overdone, badly executed environmental message tacked on. The good guys had absolutely no endearing traits, the movie just told the viewer to root for them because they're supposed to. "These are the good guys. Just because they're the good guys. We don't need to show you why they're the good guys, just take our word for it." That's not how a fucking story works. The movie utterly failed at giving the audience anything about the protagonists to really make the audience care enough to want them to succeed. If the audience isn't cheering for the good guys and really counting on them winning in the end then you have not told a good story James Cameron what the fuck happened to you you just lost it. I was watching it and it was interesting to me more for the spectacle than anything, like someone who watches a boxing match without having any money riding on the outcome. Which neatly brings me to my next paragraph.

The special effects were so overhyped and so overrated it made me want to throw up. Yeah, the special effects were good, but they were hardly the groundbreaking, earth-shattering, marvels of modern technology WAVE OF THE FUTURE they were hyped up to be. All it was was decent-to-good CGI and motion capture, things I see all the time in videogames and have been seeing for years. Honestly, parts of 2012 had better special effects than Avatar.

Immersion is a big thing for me when I go to watch a movie or a TV show or read a book or play a game or whatever. I was never immersed in Avatar. The characters ranged from annoying to uninteresting, the plot was boring and predictable, and the special effects, while good and convincing enough, were simply not enough to carry the movie all by themselves.

I want my fucking money back.

So if you havent seen it yet then good on you and don't waste your time and money watching this shit.
