Cheers guys, Nitto post from hubjub, in the region of £100? Brown brooks tape but not the new perforated stuff, the older stuff that I had to get from bens cycles and it's only on thier site if you use the search function for some reason, much cheaper than the new stuff though if you buy it without bar ends (mine came with anyway, bonus!). The tape isn't very uniform in colour and doesn't match the saddle very well but it's the only non perforated stuff I could find. Cranks and ring are suntour superbe Pro.

I think he was being a critical **** of the diameter of the fork legs :)
Anyway... It looks in amazing nick, nice wheels too.
What rims are they? Tubs or clincher?

Those forks do look a little strange. What were Cannondale thinking.
Saving £ probably.
Anyway probably best not to let Canondale design new forks. God knows what they might come up with next.

islipaway, lovely bike.
Did you find those tyres a bitch to get on? Did you cheat and use levers despite the warning in the intructions? Must need hands of steel to get those things on without tools.
(edit: they are the 'open tubular' clinchers, aren't they?)

This single-speed bike became a project that ended up with investment in production tooling: www.BigBMX.com. Looking for a suitable London retailer for the launch in May 2010 - suggestions?

I know, and I point out how silly it looks pretty much every time somebody posts one of those Cannondales.

My comment on the half-link chain was purely from experience and not at all data-backed.
They do seem to exhibit some initial stretch but there are way, way too many variables, most notably the axles sliding in the drop-outs. On the other hand, the stretch has been noticed by almost every-one that has used them.
It does, however, seem almost logical that a half-link can and would "straighten" at the bend in the plate but wether or not a human can exhibit such force is just guess-work without the proper machines.
When it comes down to it, they aren't really worth the grief (broken chain tools) and have no real benefits other than being gentler on smaller sprockets but even that is debatable.
Just use a fucking z510 and be done with it.
The lugs on that BMC are a little bit porn-y
