Do you mean the BHF ride? Lots of people who haven't registered do the ride starting early. Don't do it if you're going to start late in the day--it's often walking pace, standing around, getting off. I haven't done it myself, but this is what you hear. There are plenty of other ways of getting to Brighton. You could join the forum overnighter that's happening soon:
