  • yes, but are you guys fat as well?

From a London perspective it just seems weird to see that much lycra and carbon everywhere, given that so little people cycle overall.
Also the carbon fibre here wouldn't be on you that long, I guess, and you might even get jumped for it.

    Adelaide hills are fun!
Do you go up the North Summit Road or whatever it's called, or the path by the freeway towards the eagle?

I do 9000km a year, but built for leading into headwinds rather than fast climbing, all bikes are kept inside, yes to Norton Summit, but there are far better rides than that.
Next time bring your road bike, stay fit enough and I will show you some great rides, and so so mugachino's.

  • Cool man, will do.

  • we are not pretentious,
but sad another rider was killed on the roads in South Australia today.

Sorry dude, I was only joking... I'm certain you would ride the pants off me, latte or not!
I remember not so long back a lady went through a pack of road riders, Adelaide too wasn't it?

  • Have to agree with the speed of traffic in Melbourne. London feels a lot safer with the 20mph limit. Drunk cycling much more acceptable there though. Priorities well and truly sorted. Ahhh, good hazy memories.

  • I always felt safe riding anything with 2 wheels here in London, but not so safe in Melbs.

  • quick note, Melbourne is the home of Knog.

  • I always felt safe riding to and around Melbourne (from Geelong... perfectly safe until you get past Torquay, THEN it gets just a bit dangerous), apart from the westgate bridge, where I'd get blown about and drivers attempted to drive through me constantly. Apparently they finally finished the freeway, so I wonder what it'd be like now...

Used to be rewarding 10 years back... ride hard to Melbourne from Geelong, almost get killed on the bridge, absolutely hammer down it and practically freewheel to St Kilda pier for some Rex Hunt fish'n'chips

  • you talking about around the bay in a day, aston? cos didnt think it's legal to ride over the westgate bridge any other time. did the around the bay ride last year. clockwise. the second half was so boring i almost fell asleep riding up princess fwy.

  • Melbourne is full of prick drivers. London has it's share but far less than the shit I used to get in Melbourne.

Fucking "i pay tax and i own the road and I have a right to knock you off" cunting shit fuckers.

  • ...Fucking "i pay tax and i own the road and I have a right to knock you off" cunting shit fuckers.

that big fuss over parking ban along beach rd for example. loads of stupid fcks were up in arms over that

  • I hope they make fuel $1000/L and ban cars within 30k of the CBD.
Fuck it, it's my mission now to buy Beach Road and make it a cycle-only drag strip.

  • fatboyralph, I haven't been home in almost 10 years, and back then i was young and couldn't have given a damn if it was illegal or not. Wouldn't do it nowadays.

  • I crashed at 7am on a Saturday morning right outside Flinders St Station... Every stoned and drunk punk, goth and hippy in Melbourne had gathered to witness the event... got my front wheel caught in a tram line after warning someone to be careful off them... and the crowd when Ooooooo!
