  • What a difference a day makes.

Having gone to bed last night in considerable pain and low spirits and having consumed a belly full on analgesic happiness, worried further by the seeming nervousness and concern of the nurses; I woke this morning feeling tired, drowsy but without too much pain; just the gentle ache to which I have become accustomed. My gait was unrestricted by pain whereas last night I could hardly move. The day passed without too much pain and without leakage. I went to the hospital where the surgeon looked at my wound, trimmed some of the bioglue sticking out of it, redressed it and pronounced himself very happy with my progress. No worries about infection and healing going to plan. The actual lesion is healing well and the surgical incision is coming together. Daily dressing but no tight packing of the wound - the cause of the excruciating pain - and another visit to the surgeon in a fortnight. I can now walk but not do further exercise. Progress. Hope. Peace of mind.

Thank you for your forbearance throughout my gloom. Onwards to healing and health.
