Bump. Nobody wants to email Franklin to see if we can get a direct hookup?
-
• #428
I would imagine this is exactly the sort of thing the LHBPA is for? Would there not be some sort of position which this task would fall under?

I would like to nominate Mark for Materials Procurement Manager.
Yes, I think the Association could buy a big batch of balls and sell them for donations or whatever. Will you accept a nomination?

I have just heard back from the international franklin supplier, name and contact given to me by Gene Avrus, who has confirmed that the minimum order that any international buyer can place with Franklin direct is a value no less than $500 (250 balls).
Speaking as a representative of the Cambridge Bicycle Polo Players (CBPP), we are after a batch for our players and for our tourney this summer paid for by the CBPP from our own coiffers. We can't afford, nor do we want 250 plus balls. Would the LHBPA be interested in placing this order with us (and perhaps any other city specific poloists, Manchester etc?) to make up the numbers, so we all benefit from reduced overheads such as customs, tax, shipping etc. We need about 60 of mixed varieties to keep us happy for a year or so.
What do you say LHBPA?

I see no reason not to. How many balls would Cambridge like (i.e., how many balls would Cambridge like London and anyone else interested to buy)?
-
• #432
Are they able to split up types of balls, or is one order of 250 of the same?
-
• #433
I initially put 60 req'd up, but seeing as they are going so cheap we could up that to 80. I'd guess 55 standard reds, 15 cold weather, and 10 extreme cold weather.
All Franklin need is an order over $500 to get this going. I'll seek clarification on whether we can mix the order up (i'm guessing yes), and also while i'm thinking whether they need to invoice a business (does the LHBPA carry a registered business address?). I'll get back to you with answers.

The LHBPA is registered as something. It has a bank account anyway.
Let us know what you find out.

• #435
types, do you have a price list?
-
• #436
OK guys, Franklin have replied.
We can only bill/ship to one account and we can only accept wire transfers from accounts outside of the US.
I would need to know what quantities you will be looking for so I can check availability internally, below are the hockey balls in question:
Model # Cost Case Pack Color Type
12205 $1.75 6 Yellow Low Density Ball – for use below 32º F
12209 $2.10 6 Red Super High Density Ball – for use above 70º F
#12207 $1.75 6 Orange High Density Ball – for use above 32º FPlease advise.
Remember, we need to make a combined order of a value at or over $500 USD. VAT, shipping, etc will be added on top.
Can a representative from the LHBPA (horatio?) let me know what you'd like to do.

Does anyone actually need oranges? Looks like minimum order is 239 reds.
-
• #438
I'd be interested.
10x Red @ $2.10 = $21.00
5x Orange @ $1.75 = $8.75
Total = $29.75 (plus taxes, shipping etc.) -

This is what I got from Gus Legit, the dude who supplied me with the 100 red franklins. He's not supplying any more, but he gave us this info. Anyone want to contact them?
"I had a federal business number that I used to do wholesale orders with Franklin, though I know the guys in New York don't have any of that and I think they've bought balls direct from them. My contact over there is named Gene Avrus, contactable at gavrus@franklinsports.com. In my experience Franklin's not the most responsive company as far as contact goes, but they're straightforward and generally quick with everything else. Let me know if you have any problems getting in touch with them."
