If you google 'cycling potholes (insert name of borough)' you should get plenty info on council policy, precedents etc. From what I have heard cyclists tend to be more privileged than other road users in this respect

I hit a pot hole that took a chunk out of the side of my car tyre. A mate of mine, who was also a mobile tyre fitter advised me to report it to the branch of the county council that dealt with the highways and they'd refund the cost of the tyres (naturally you have to replace in pairs) and they paid up, all be it eight months later. Most peoples wheels probably cost more than average car tyres, I was wondering if anyone has claimed yet?

Not strictly a pothole, as it is man-made.
Looks like a manhole without the grate over it, or a roadwork that they forgot to cover up.
Either way, I didn't see it before I was going over it.
Quite how I got over it is also a mystery because it was very big but my poor Aksiums are now dented as a result. Quite glad I stayed on the bike and avoided being driven over by multiple buses. It is on the North side of the bridge, just by the underpass, on the outside lane.
I also need to claim for my wheel. Stupidly I was too pissed off to take a photo on the spot...as I had somewhere to be. Going to see if it is still there today.....
Not sure what the process is. U'sing TFS now. -

There is an amazing pothole on Fleet Street - east bound - on the corner of Chancery Lane. Deep deep deep.
Another wonderous one on Roseberry Avenue, northbound by the junction with Farringdon Road just out side the sorting office.

The cooler weather has started to break up the roads on my journey in. Lewisham High Street and then the OKR are both losing chunks of asphalt. With the councils strapped for cash, its going to be a nasty winter of riding.

I am just back from a photo excursion....
As expected, the thing I rode over and wanted to warn people about was covered over with glistening tar. I took some measurements and photos, but to my horror, spotted two AMAZINGLY HUGE potholes which I will now warn people about.
I'll upload some pics later I gotta go househunting now
Ride safe friends! -

I saw that one at the weekend, crazy big I'm glad I steered well clear of it

That pothole just emerged after they opened the bridge and the heavy rain somehow made it bigger.
Doesn't inspired confident when I saw a car hit it so bad, it weave around the road like a flopping salmon trying to regain control.
Don't warn people, unless you're going to camp out there 24/7 making sure every cyclists avoid it, just get it filled by filling in the form;

I've seen all of these except the ones GA2G mentioned, that one on Waterloo Bridge is/was massive and that one on Fleet St is pretty awful too.

That Roseberry Avenue/Farringdon Road is there every other week, they do a cheap job reparing it and then it "opens" back up in a couple of weeks

Sounds like an excuse to buy a cyclo cross bike if I've ever heard one.

be really careful on the north side of russell square at the moment - they've closed the bus lane for roadworks so you have to go all the way round, when you make the right turn onto woburn place there is a massive pothole
I thought this was a thread about little burn holes in your shirts.....
