What chain should I buy?

...but what's the best chain for single speed?I was after the Rohloff but that seems very elusive.

Just get a KMC 1/8th (asuming you are running 1/18th). They are about £11. I also had a SRAM one that was pretty good. Just have a look really, go and ask in the shops, use the fucking serch and all that jazz.

I used several Wippermann Red Star 100 Single Speed chains in the past and found them to hold up well.

Assuming you are not racing with it, then something like a SRAM PC1 should do the job fine, costs 8 quid most places

Not fixed it for me though. Without the Internet I would probably never have started riding fixed all those years ago (well only 7!). No bike shops in my area catered for fixed at all and even now it is very, very limited.

I live in the New Forest. I am not talking about OTPs I am talking about all the parts required as I build my own bikes. Fixed hubs, chainsets, track frames etc, were simply not available at any shops 7 years ago and I can't imagine a large range are even now.
You may get one or two items at the odd shop but hardly compares to the items available via online shops does it!
