I was thinking I was going to breeze the swim, having previously competed at county level, but then my wife pointed out that it was over half my life since then.....
Got back in the pool today and it was hard work; I did 1k in a mixture of crawl and breast stroke. I'm going to get in there twice a week at lunch time until I can do the whole thing in crawl. At the moment I'm concentrating on my breathing.
Also, when i get closer to the event I'll be getting some specific open water swimming in at a local ressie.
