Safer Neighbourhood Teams (or Neighbourhood Policing Teams as we call them up here) have their priorities chosen by the public. We have a problem within our area because, although two thirds of our area is made up of social housing with all the problems associated with it, our "public" are made up of the 1/3 of fuddy duddies from the posh part. So instead of focusing on the needs of the community we end up having to focus on the perceived problems suffered by them.
To give you an idea. ASB caused by local youths. When does this ASB happen. Monday - Friday between 3 and 4....Oh yeah, your not happy that 1500 kids are going to school where you live...
So rather than knock it.....if you have cause for concern get in there and make your voice heard... It might just mean that my colleagues in SNT's can get out arrest some real criminals.
