We turned up from Cramlington. Waited for an hour or so, nobody else showed. It wasn't raining in Gosforth, not till we left just after 4 anyway. Its only rain - pussies!

Shit, sorry John, we definitely need to htfu for a few weeks until April. Triple whammy of screaming hangover, flat tyre and constant rain tipped me over the edge. Loving the look of the bikes btw.

No worries, Matt. Knew there must have been something, I know you're not usually shy of a bit of rain. If you had shown there would only have been the three of us anyway. Looking forward to next time for a tryout, should have our own mallets too by then. BTW, have loads more boards for wheel discs if you're interested.(Dare I say team colours?)

Soooo, here's the difficult question, we've got one team booked for the UK champs in Manchester. Who wants to go and anyone got any bright ideas about how we're going to narrow it down to three players? Bollocks.

i guess it should go on commitment and attendance to practice recently and in the run up to it. That rules me out as I've been slack recently. However i feel dedication to the cause should be rewarded with a place in the team. Fairest way to do it in my book. My 2 cents....

we have only played once this year though, dont really feel like anyone has been especially dedicated or not.
i say everyone who wants to go should just put their name down

fair play. i'm trying to build up a polo bike at the minute.
what are everyones thoughts on gearing for their polo steed?
I was thinking about going for something like 35x18.
Freewheel or fixed?
I did UTFS but opinion seems to be maissively divided amongst the London polo players, so I thought I would get the local perspective.

I'm rocking 39x22 which i thought was ideal.

• #645
is that fixed ricky?
-
• #646
yep. Also kept my 17t on the other side !

I've been on 38:20 fixed for ages. Works fine although considering how fucked I was after we played Netto at Cambridge last year, might reduce it by a couple more GI before tournaments begin. Still desperately need a new frame though, the creaking's scaring the shit out of me. Phil/Pete, is it worth me coming into rcb to look?
Let's get a game sorted for the weekend too. Saturday, 3pm, usual place?

Yeah matt I got loads striped down so therelots to choose from nothing special though just basic steel frames if ya give us a idea what size we try to remember to check for ya but it may be better to come down if you have time

I use 40:23 on the bike I just built, which gives about 43 GI on 26 inch wheels. Mainly cos that's what I had to hand. Could go slightly lower, which dave has on his bike(38:23 I think). A lot depends on what you have available and whether you want to spend any money(I'm notoriously averse to that where possible). Freewheel at the mo, but soon to be fixed.
