4 for the wakeup call, morning news, shipping forcast and weekday daytimes on the very rare day off at home.
6 for evenings and weekends. mark riley, gideon coe, stuart maconie, adam and joe and steven merchant.

BBC World Service has been offline the last 2 nights. Has anyone heard anythign about this? A google search has yielded no information.
I need the drone to bore me to sleep. Radio 4 is too fucking chipper.

Just heard that there are rumours the BBC could axe BBC 6 music. Seems bizarre given the popularity of adam and joe, and the need to have something that caters for those who don't like the blandness of radio 2 or the inanity of radio 1.

It's the only music radio station worth listening to, of course they're going to get rid of it. Most natural decision since cutting Maconie's Freakzone prog to give Dave Pearce a few hours to play Ebeneezer Goode on permanent loop.

Bollocks, just discovered the station recently and it's been great.

If 6 goes I will be genuinely devastated.

totally with saving 6 music just for Craig Charles' ace show,
but Im genuinely wondering if all these facebook groups, and petitions actually save anything, or achieve what they are set up to do?
accounts of successful net campaigns please.......................... -

All who have a passion for new, exciting music and a generally liberal view on life then please send an email to the address above in (dan)'s post.
It would truly be a fucking disaster if they pull the plug on the only fully accessible to the majority radio station that doesn't just play the same 4 "hits" CDs. -

I have already sent my sad/outraged letter, hoping the apathetic classes get off their arse and do it also!

yeah, email on way now. to good to lose.
"the decision to axe 6 Music is extremely short sighted of the Corporation.
I am saddend to see this lack of vision, and even sadder that the choices of listening are reduced to the rubbish that Radio 1 plays.
why is it that the programmers cant spot something worthwhile, whilst at the same time they promote rubbish money- generating tripe? " yours etc -
