Continued grief with slow punctures and not so slow ones has lead to an interesting discovery. On trying the "pump it up really very big" approach I noticed that one of the tubes that keeps going down actually rattled when it was rotated!
I cut the tube open and out fell a sharp edged cube of glass, about 2mm on each side, that looked like a windscreen shard. It must have gone right into the tube at some point and been sealed up when I patched it.
Never head of this before, and it has been a bugger. So, check your tubes as well as your tyres kids.
