I would suggest using it on a long ride. Things *always *fucking break when on a long ride.
Failing that is there any way you can get more leverage on the wrench?

You know one of the pedals is reverse threaded, right?

Take it to a bike shop. Stick it in a vice, add penetration spray and leverage.
London Fields released a stuck pedal for me, which I, and another shop, couldn't shift. -

Can you imagine how tight that thing is by now? TIghter than a fishes arse, I reckon. -

spray WD40, then waiting around half hour,
using long wrench to remove it, parktools is a good choice. -

From what I've seen on here, he has built up a lot of bikes. I'm sure he knows about LH reverse threading :)
+1 to using a massive vice though.

You could also use a scaffold pole over the end of the wrench to give yourself more leverage but make sure that the crank is firmly held in place.

I know about the threads but thanks.
Still no luck

Where are you based? I have a club hammer ;p

Try tightening the pedal, to break the "bond", if loosening isn't working. Which it isn't. And removing the pedal cage will make it easier to get the spanner etc onto the pedal arm.

hit the pedal wrench with a mallet.

^agree, I find that hitting gets better results than leverage alone as it introduces some shock forces or something like that!

keep going with the penetrating oil but use something better than wd40. ambersil or plusgas maybe. leave it as long as you can at least 3 nights worth of application. Then wrap the crank in thick rags hold it horizontally in a vice, get a decent spanner on the pedal thread and hit it with a big hammer.

broke my favourite 15mm spanner using a piece of pipe and a sledghammer still stuck
Hi all,
Im still trying to remove the stock pedal from my Langster, but it will not budge. I have tried the following;
Using a park tools pedal wrech
Using WD40 and trying after 12 and 24 hours
Heating with a blowtorch until stupendously hot and using a wrench
and shouting
it still wont budge so any ideas before i just throw away the crankset (sugino messenger)?
