They both look completely plastic, she slightly more than him. I think it's because she shows more strange-coloured skin, and because of her strange body posture--there's something about her left shoulder and arm that just screams 'Barbie'--although, come to think of it, his legs look as if they make him stand up as awkwardly as a doll.
If anyone ever wanted proof that Barbie and Ken dolls did a lot of damage to people, this is it.
