From my personal perspective i would say it was really important that the goals were flexible in KH - basically every time someone fell on them they would fold up to a certain degree, but then they just get raised up. This saves both the players from injuries, and the goal. I think if they are glued then once the first person falls on them they're fucked.
Having said that i'm no handywoman and don't know much about power tools and how you would go about creating stuff
