Be very careful with Caustic Soda.

Make sure you wear gloves and cover your eyes. Add the soda to the water.
Caustic Soda is very powerful. I had a BB Cup stuck in a frame, used Caustic Soda and the cup literally disappeared.
Have you tried all the less drastic methods, eg penetrating oil, vice etc
