define super expensive?
I know a very good second hand GIANT racing bike that would fit, it's around the £300 mark as it's had some use from a triathlete -

with super expensive i generally mean upmarket bikes, with campa/dura ace etc. It will only be used every now and then, the main issue is really the weight.
@tiles, wow, thanks, will def try and bid.
@Greasy slag, thanks but i think £300 is over the budget.
@roryeaglestone, sounds good, but a 55 seat tube (thats what u mean by 55st right) is way to big for a 5.2" girl it should be around the 49 mark or even a 26".
cheers

Not light in terms of modern road bikes (9.7kg) but bang-on for size.

You need a 650c bicycle, not a 700c.
sadly that mean you'll need to spend about £400, there an IRO called the HD designed for people who are 5'3 and under, with 650c wheels, it's just the same as a taller person with 700c (same proportion).
there's a Fuji Track that have a 650c wheels too.

thanks, but i don't think it's bang on for price. Frame should be at least 531, thats a heavy carbon frame or am i mistaken...
@renster: I am with tomburtonart on this one, juding from the components and the fact that it is £200 new including sus fork, it can't be light. but thanks for the offer.

Try and get the IRO Mark V HD, it will fit you better;
for your heigh, a 650c wheels bike is better than a 700c.

Are you interested in frame & fork alone?
I've got a couple of frames I need to sell that was ridden by a 5'2 girl.
An Orbit Harrier touring frame+fork 46cm ST 53cm TT, and Zullo criterium 49cm ST 50cm TT. -

Hey y-s, I am also looking for something like this. I would like to see pics of those frames if possible - obviously only if Mr C is not interested that is.

Zullo Criterium 49cm ST c-t, 50cm TT c-c
Centaur BB, Shimano 105 Headset
really cool frame with lots of neat details, what you'd expect from this master builder.
the paint and chrome is not in very good condition, and would benefit from respray.
£100 ONO
Orbit Harrier, slightly sloping TT.
48cm ST c-t, 53cm TT c-c (horizontal)
Ultegra headset and BB(I think, but not 100%)
£50 ONO

with super expensive i generally mean upmarket bikes, with campa/dura ace etc. It will only be used every now and then, the main issue is really the weight.
The cheapest way to get a light bike is to do without gears.
A light geared bike, with which the gears actually work well will be disproportionately expensive.
I suggest you look a modern aluminium road bikes, second hand of course. As they will have no hipster-tax applied.
Or just get an old steel bike and just strip the fuck out of it.

That Orbit Harrier is lovely -- what size wheels does it take?

they are both 700c. Orbit can take up to 28, with mudguards, or bigger w/o guards.
age of the bike doesn't matter, but she's after something light that she can carry up to the 4th floor easily. a few gears would be nice (not essential) but doesn't need to be a 10-12 speed.
can be alloy or steel frame. Road bike touring bike, light mtb, please no super expensive bikes.
please let me know what you have got.
cheers
