Yep. It took almost no time at all. For may years wolf and human bones have been found together. They still looked like wolves and lived outside. In each generation the most tame would be bred and the rest would not. Tame meaning not being shy or afraid of humans as opposed to the tame we accept now in our pets. Started about 14,000 years ago.
