hmm, it's not steel but alloy cranks and then getting rid of some strategicly placed (<logo or the like) powdercoat.
i bet the process is similar to screen print techniques using a bity acid instead of pigment solution.
i wonder, what the acid mixture would consist of, so ja, interested in the process actually :)
