  • A very pleasant way to spend a lazy afternoon.
    Cheers guys.

  • There's nothing lazy about 3 cigars. Just smoking one is lazy.

  • Partagas shorts and Sancho Panza Bachilleres arrived today. Will bring them to SE beers for collection.

  • Yay! I'll be there then.

  • Hmmm, i'll hopefully be there, but maybe not. I'll try and let you know Dale.

  • Just let me know ahead of time. I can hold onto your sticks, no problem.

  • There's a decent chance the Siglo II will show tomorrow meaning we can hopefully sort everyone out.

  • Thanks for earlier Dale - took me 3 hours to get back out of London, but my journey was eased by some quality time with a Partagas to while away the traffic.

  • No problem, Alex. I'm glad you had company for the ride.

I also went ahead and ordered those tubes.

  • mmmm... diplomaticos = good.
    thanks dale.

  • Did the siglo ll's arrive Dale? I'm prob coming to SE's tonight, though i want 2 arrive and leave early. Do u know when ur getting there?

  • Siglo IIs haven't landed on my desk yet, but they may around lunch/early afternoon. I'm planning on being at SE after work, by 6.30 at latest. I'm not planning on staying too long and need to get gone by 8 anyway.

  • i'll aim to be there by 6.30. Quick pint and short, then i'm off.

  • I plan on having one smallish cigar tonight but haven't made up my mind on which. I'm leaning towards a Short, but the Sancho Panza and Diplomatico are also options.

  • I'm going to let the panza's settle in before smoking them. We know the shorts are best fresh, so they're a good bet IMO. Having said that, the diplamaticos you gave me on saturday was great, really enjoyed it, and would actually be up for buying some.

  • I wasn't wild about the Diplomatico - it started out pleasant enough, but got a little harsh towards the end. Then again, that could just have been my throat.

I'm going to smoke a Punch Coronation tonight. I'll get down for 6:30 or so as well. Not sure how many I'll stay for. This week is a bit booze-filled, so I'm taking it easy.

  • For those that liked the Diplomatico, Havana is discontinuing most of them. The only Diplo that will remain is the No. 2. The ones that I was sharing was the No. 4.

I'll probably stock up on a couple boxes as they are inexpensive and I like them.

  • Got my tubes from C. Gars Ltd today. Really impressed with the quality of the tubes. The aluminum is proper thick and durable; it will be hard to accidentally bend them. I also really like the serious threads on these. They won't open on accident and seal up well. The colour choice of the case isn't quite my cup of tea but it's not bad.

    Thanks for the tip, Alex.

  • I have always got good service from c.gars, quick delivery and good prices for the U.K.
I am new to LFGSS but love a good smoke (not just cubans i.e Dominicans, Nicauraguans etc)
I usually buy 3-5 packs favs are Partagas D4's & HDM Epicures and anything Bolivars makes. I will keep an eye on the thread and might have to try and make a LFGSS cigar session.

  • There is a store just down the alley next to Waterstone's on Picadilly- the one that heads to jermyn St (near where old Japan center was) that is closing down and has cigars ludicrously cheap.
    And pipes, and everything.
    guy's a nice bloke too.
Worth a visit for some bargains.
note- haven't tried any cigars from there yet.

  • Just been in Cigars Unlimited getting some Xikar crystals, and they were telling me about this new Cohiba that was launched at the Festival de Habano yesterday. As i have posted before i am a big fan of the Nubs, which are short with a very big ring gauge, which makes them smoke like a Churchill size - apparently the Cubans have taken not of the success of the Nub size, and brought out their own take on it, with a big 56 + ring gauge - it will be launches as a new line of Cohiba. Should be interesting, and v expensive. Its called the Behike Line, and expans on a limited release they did a few years back, but in bigger sizes.

On the subject of the Nubs, i just got a couple of Boxes from a mate in Miami - over here they are 8 quid a pop, but a box of 24 from teh US is only 80 quid, so only just over 3 quid each - i shall be getting some more, and am happy to get another box for the forum if anyone is interested.

Heres a good review of them.

  • I think those are the Cohiba Behike line. They have massive RG but I think it tops out at 56.

Personally I don't smoke many large RG cigars anymore even though that's what I started with and used to love. I still have some and like them, but I only smoke a couple a year it seems.

I will be checking that out.

Dale, I'm definitely in. I'm probably for half a box/a whole box...

I'm quite interested, probably only want a few though, so others would have to go in, unless you would want to sell me 4 or 5 Alex?

I will be checking that out.

Dale, I know it's a little cheeky... but it's doubtful i'll be able to make it down there. If you do go, and they have nice stuff at good prices - could you perhaps buy me £40-£50 of cigars, and i'll pay you back. I fully trust your judgment and taste. Call me if you go down.

  • Forms i will be getting some anway do it doesnt need to be a bulk order - wont me for another couple of weeks though
