It's not about his view - it's about the common sense.
The common sense aspect applies to the mechanical safety of an object and nobody has disputed that. The next step is whether it's fit for the purpose you intend, not what someone else thinks it should be used for. Then there's the aesthetic side which is subjective and is therefore a personally held view. It matters not a jot how many others happen to share your subjective view in this matter. The only time that can matter is if you wish to convert people, sell them something or to fit in with a certain 'tribe'.
My original post didn't ignore common sense and, aesthetically, was merely an expression of my own subjective view. I can't think of any definition, on any forum, where that would have been classed as trolling.
