Thank you all for the interest. I will look into all the suggestions.
To be honest, I am not the rider that most of you lot are, so the bike is unlikely to do many *"twisty descents" *a la Andy P. I would like to keep my options open though. I may overcome my fear of heights one day.
I'm looking for an excuse to go out on some longer faster rides.
Ideally I would like a used but clean bike built up. I am too lazy/impatient to get a frame and then spend the rest of the year looking for parts.
I have a dream bike (see above) in my head. I also have all sorts of OCDs about things (but not about putting Japanese on Italian).
I considered getting a bike built for me, either by Roberts or another Brit, but the frame alone would cost my budget. I don't like the look of new components either (tart).
If you go for the vintage frame JayGee do you want NOS, used but clean or a fixer upper?
