re: buyers' market. Someone on this forum is selling a corima four spoke HM (i.e. super dooper) rear track wheel for £350 ish: Sounds a lot, but they cost nearly a grand each new... it's been used for 20 minutes. Go figure.

Re: getting charged £90 for the spokes and build... There are good people around here who will charge you a lot less than that for a great job, if ever you build some more wheels.
