Why remove the crank when you only want to change the chain ring?
Can't see photos either.

Try soaking the crank arm overnight in penetrating oil (Duck Oil is by far the best, WD40 will do in a pinch though). They're really stuck on sometimes. Leave the bike on its side and fill up the taper hole completely with oil.
Or you could remove the crank bolt and ride around for a few hours to loosen it up. Might come off while you're riding though, which would be a Very Bad Thing.

Removing cranks is not easy. I find that wearing a pair of gloves helps me get a bit more torque. Also. It's easier to squeeze the crank arm and extractor arm together if you have an angle of 45-60º. If you're angle is near 180º you're not really going to get anywhere. Loosen off the tool and try again.

When you see the crank, you'll realise why he needs to take it off to change the chainring

http://www.lfgss.com/album.php?albumid=1129&pictureid=7035I'll try to soak it in oil. So Do you think the crank extractor is compatible?
Cheers!

looks to be good, sqaure taper, it can be a bit hard to remove them like peeps said but it should come out if you have got the right parts to do it. it can get pretty hard to turn it out once the extractor meets the crank, but you just gotta keep on going.
gooz luck.

when you screw the extractor into the crank arm make sure the extractor is fully into the threads and tight or you will tear the crank threads out

Be careful with the crank extractor; it's easy to bugger the threads (aluminium, very shallow threads). A good dousing with WD40 followed by 2 litres of boiling water poured slowly over helped me get off a stuck crank by hitting it with a hammer. Obviously, this isn't a good idea if you want to reuse the cranks.
Bear in mind that (by the looks of it; I've been wrong before) your chainset is riveted. You can remove chainrings by cutting them off if you really want to, but that will probably weaken the whole thing; not a good idea if you're riding fixed. To be honest, you might be better off getting down your LBS and seeing if they've got any cranks with removable rings lying around you can have for cheap. -

Thanks for all the answers and interest.
Frinkmakesyouthink, I followed yesterday your advise and I soaked 3 times for 24h with WD40 and the crank came off pretty easy actually. I was surprised!
Rusty, I think the angle helped too.As with the actual derailleur I don't think I can fit more than 38T and I can not find another 38/32/24, I'll go to one of the workshops mentioned here for some help and advise.
Cheers,
Hi guy,
I am trying to change the chain ring and having problems removing the crank. I've checked several vidios and it looked so easy that I thought of having a go and bouht a crank extractor
But it's not coming, not sure if it's not the right one or I'm being too thick..
Any advise please?
Thanks
