If anyone in london buys a langster, a plug or a bowery while this is for sale for £600 they should be beaten with burning logs.
-
• #3
Nice throw together build, wish I had shit like that laying around.
If you break, dibs on the chainring, price??
-
• #4
I'm unlikely to split if it doesn't sell, and definitely not the chainring, it's effectively new so it would go back into 'stock'. Thanks anyway.
@ velonoir, I think that's exactly what the 'interested party' decided to do, feel free to track him down and beat him with burning logs... I have the matches ready. -

i was preowner of this frame...and i put this pics here just for you to realize how beautyfull this frame is if build up with "nicer" parts. the frame was/is stunning but unfortunately to large for me so i had to let it go. please keep in mind that i didn't ride the bike very often but build it up with different parts "layin" around...just for the pleasure of seen it build up. so pic quality is not allways the best, angle of seat is not most favourable, valves of tubulars on shamal are to short, pedalstraps are not matching.... but the frame is a stunner didn't post it here before cause it 's reader wives.
1.pic with low profil rim (tubular)
2.pic with atlanta's rims (clincher of course)
3.pic with shamal track (tubular of course)

Hey Joe,
we will need a lot more photos of your frame if there is a chance to identify it...as it is it has 'standard' nervex pro lugs, which are nice however there are not exclusive to the pretty red bike, many of the frame builders of that time (worth their salt) used nervex lugs either standard or modified (when building).
pictures of the whole frame with clearances, the forks, the rear triangle, the other braze ons (if there are any) would be really useful
cheers,

Yeah, sorry, as Wingedangel says above, but also my specific knowledge of the Plum came from the previous owner, have to say it's not my specialist subject. Good luck...
-
• #11
Did you sell it in the end then? Not an interested buyer, just interested.
-
• #12
Yes, it did sell, should have updated thread but it's been so long I'd forgotten about it!
Looks a bit different now (and before you all dive in the angle of the bars is the preference of the owner - a case of function over form!).

• #13
Ooh, it that just the stripped metal, or powdercoated? (I need a RAL for a nice gunmetal/graphite grey colour)

It's both! Blasted metal powdercoated clear - looks really nice and shows off the lugs to full effect, somehow the clearcoat is not as 'plasticky' looking as a flat colour... Armourtex score again.

Bare metal strip and powder coat. Fixed gear conversion. I tried for months to ID the frame, would have loved to restore to origonal. -

info@plumoostende.beyes they are. the space between the headtube badge holes is a tell tale sign, 50 mm apart on a Plum
or compare it to mine: http://picasaweb.google.nl/pjvalkema/Baanfiets2#
struggling to get the decals off, they're under a clear coating. I don't want to mess it up as the colour is so nice, but I have to get rid of the Pinarello guise and bring it to Gent to make it a proper Plum again.
-
• #22
Arrgghhh no holes on head tube!
-
• #23
jeez, that throws you back again :-/ any chance they were there once but have been filled? can you see this on the inside of the headtube?
first i thought mine was a schwinn paramount but those all have horizontally mounted head tube badges

Probably already know this, but you can get Plum(e) transfers from Lloyds...

Previously offered as frame and fork only, an interested party encouraged me to build this up but then disappeared, so before it gets dismembered again anyone interested in complete bike? Not making any great claims for parts choice or design, it was all stuff I had to hand, but mostly good quality nevertheless.
