they have to send the ticket to you within a certain time scale otherwise it does just lapse
also it is worth checking the location and being 100% sure that they have it right
i got off my one and only speeding offence because they said i was at the wrong junction of the M6 and by the time they had revised the ticket and re sent it had lapsed
14 days or something like that is the official time scale
