They felt compelled. Every fibre in their body was aching with anticipation for the last minutes. Ready to drop a powerbomb of a final bid. The entire run of the auction they had been sat on the corner of their bed, laptop in hand, finger poised, just waiting. Physically unable to move or do anything else until the auction was over and they had won.
