  • My bro did the dash 4 cash (old street - marble arch and back) on a BMX no brakes and didn't come last. A bike goes as fast as you ride it.

  • I hate fixed gear

    +1, rich kid hipster wankers

  • another fixed gear london wank off....seems like they only get love outside of london...bunch of idiots

    it's a trap!

  • People sure are getting good at making these fixed docu's. Some nice direction and a lot of effort put in here. I think it's good stuff and would like to see the full version.

  • Nicely shot piece about a bunch of mates who enjoy riding their bike. The UK has had no where near the amount of videos re fixedgear compared to the states, so i say well done fixed gear London! Looking forward to seeing the whole thing

    Yeah but who came last?

  • A bike goes as fast as you ride it.

    thanks for the info.

  • thanks for the info.

Damn, over-tentative irony. I should of put 'dude' or 'peace out' or something after it.

  • looks really good, the instruction manual graphic is a little bit of a familiar device though.

  • All property is theft...

  • brakless spinny geared ones with risers aren't.
unless you think "long distances" means from EC1 to E2

    scenario: 10 miles to destination.
bike choice: bmx or brakeless fixed with spinny gear and risers
obvious choice for comfort and speed: brakeless fixed with spinny gear and risers

There is no contest. 60 mile rides without brakes could be bit of bitch, but not half as much as doing 60 miles on a bmx.

Not sure what the tricks guys are running, I run 66GI and it's mint around town and on longer rides. Blue Quinn runs 60GI on one of his bikes with no complaints. Neither of us are tricksters.

True, but comfort and practicality will win in the end.

  • simple and cheap does suit my character

You do Blue Quinn a disservice.

  • i ride both bmx and fixed, my journey to work has long stretches and stop starts. am as fast as fixed on long stretches but in the built up areas im gone

  • ^^ wow

  • BMX is unbeatable for manoeuvrability and nippy as fnck in traffic and the congested, really central areas. But when I was doing my daily ride of 5 or so miles back and forth from work on it, i thought, this isn't really the right tool for the job.

..hang on, why am i talking about this? Fuck you. Whatever.

  • I liked it.

    Congrats to your "bro".

PS. He didn't fucking win though did he?

PPS. I was having fun spinning like a madman overtaking nodders going up Camden Road on my brakeless BMX, until about Brecknock Road when I was fucking knackered. Direct comparison - A few weeks ago when I went to Souths and turned up really late I did the ride from Camden to the pub in about a quarter of the time it took me to do the same distance after Brick 2 Brix when I was on my BMX.

Well screw you all. I run a 69/70GI with risers and a front brake and it's fine. I also came 2nd in the Brick2Brix. I'll go fast and completely destroy myself if there's cash involved, but not so much for everday stuff!

    brake:

Not current bike, but constant brake cable routing.

  • Congrats to your "bro".

My biological brother. Geeze, tuff crowd.

  • its more trick than track isnt it though? dont think i saw a drop bar in that trailer. where as the american/japanese vids i've seen are more track bike street riding .. just an observation fyi and no bad thing, i like everything bar the music but then i class myself as a bit of a music snob.
just a london take of things which imo is a good thing.

  • edit - observation fail. that 'fuck u, whatever' dude is bopping drops.

  • And he can wheelie on them, which is a hell of a lot harder than on risers!

  • Not sure if I'd call it a documentary, but then again I don't think there's a length minimum required for that (or is this a trailer?). It's quite well shot/edited but looks too polished for the purpose. It sort of looks like quite bad high dynamic range photography. Don't know if that exists in filming though.

If I'd change anything so far it would be the dialogue - some awfully immature stuff said and some plain wrong stuff ("you can go faster with more control").
