Which of these would you consider the most important to help cyclists in the UK?
Compulsory basic training (CBT) for cyclists (or a cycling element to the driving test)
Further introduction of physically separate cycle lanes
Further introduction and enforcement of 20 mph zones
Compulsory wearing of cycle helmets
Mandatory use of lights on bicycles 24/7
Other
I chose "other" and stated actual enforcement of traffic law for ALL road users being of a better help to cyclists.
After all, if motors gave us room and behaved as the highway code says, we would be fine, if pedestrians took heed of the guidelines in the highway code we would be fine..etc..
Cycle training is all well and good, but who's going to pay for it if it's compulsory? and will it stop uninsured drivers talking on phones from ramming us at the lights?
