Real skateboard shops are rare as hell. They also sell locally made athirdfoot boards which are the ONLY British made decks.
Considering they sell setups for the same price as they did 10 years ago I think their prices arent too bad.
Their odd tidbits like hardware is really cheap too, and they will give you free allen keys and stickers.

They're not an overpriced store by any means.. Sure the T's they stock aren't £3 like in H&M, but as a skate shop goes, for skateboard related products they sell them at the standard prices.

I'm sure when Ideal and skate clothing companies can afford to buy stock in as huge quantities as handm and prime ark, and can sell as fast to as large a market, they will be selling poor quality T-shirts from Bangladesh for £3 too. Or not.
But in the meantime the rules of supply and demand will apply and stuff from skate shops and similar places will seem expensive to the average person.
Although having said that, I am guilty of not supporting my local skate shop by buying trainers from tea kay maximus... the logic being there's no point spending £60 on trainers that are going to be used as brakes and will get shredded by DMR V8 pedals.

Most skate shoe companies are now getting there stuff made in massive scales in China. The shoes and clothing are now mainstream enough to warrant this.
ALL the skate shoes, and much of the other trainers too that are in TK Maxx are manufacturer samples from the Guanzhou Trade Market in China. That is why there is no boxes, and the ocassional really really weird design's.
A few of the t-shirts/clothing etc, remains "boutique" made on the same scales (and therefore same pricing) as non-mainstream streetwear.

Well, I've never seen a skate shoe that wasn't made in Asia.

Was in brum today on a school trip to the bodies revealed exhibition (which is really good and well worth seeing) and on the way out walked past some like board store that had some bikes in the window etc. Looked quite cool but my friends would have like killed me if I asked to have a closer look. Anyone know the name?
Cheers Dudes
