they did start running downhill mtb in the early 90's
this guy talks about it on Seasons Collective film (buy it)
Andrew Shandro, they were trying to figure out where down hill MTB would go, however it was too fucked up to continue, just massive wide courses,
super messy.

love that downhill vid. you're with the guy the whole way going "come on! you can take him! yeah!" etc and just when he starts to pass people like they're standing still, you're thinking "wow yeah! this is awesome... this is too good to be...oh" blam. and he eats it off a corner that he obvioulsy should have slowed down much more for. hehe! amazing stuff though. would love to give it a go.

Snowboarding qualifiers on at the moment.

Proper good competition there. Lots of drama, plenty of fodder for the slam section and some nice tight races. Commentary was a bit crap, would rather have watched without but still plenty of fun.

Make me think we should have a fixed cross race on a similar circuit but on velodrome surfacing.

The mens downhill yesterday was great. Those guys are brave!

So was the Snowboar 4 cross.
