Vittorio Pista, hand made Dutch although it sounds Italian but hey
Talking about Vittorio / Frank Groot: what the hell is this?
Looks like and is advertised as a track, but it carries a strada decal... -

Very nice Colnago, Peter!
Is that the Kwantum Hallen team bike from Gijs van Tuyl?
Fokking nice wheels also.
Gorgeous.
It's screaming for a Super Record chain ring. Maybe a Concor saddle.Do I spot is nice Benotto in the background? And what is the red "pista" ?
Colnago: yes it is (he still has the blue master!!! it's on MP but i'd rather not deal with the guy)
I actually like the Turbo very much, but do you know the original spec? Still waiting for a pista crankset from Germany 151 bcd which fits a nice thick chainring
Pista red is Vito, yes there's a model 2000 Benotto too, the other red track thing in the background that says 'Pinarello' actually is a Plum Vainqueur

Looks like and is advertised as a track, but it carries a strada decal...Jan Groot built the one I own, originally for a guy named v. Brienen
like that one you linked, geometry doesn't look like a strada and it's not drilled?! strange indeed, maybe not the original decals

It is just gorgeous, I shall be forever in awe. Let me know if you do ever decide to sell it.

My mistake. I like Concor a lot and it's strongly linked with Colnago
But "original spec" (as far as you can say that for a pro team, because they rode/ride whatever they like, no matter if it's the official team supplier or not) was Rolls. Also San Marco, but no Concor. I think the model Concor was already a few years old and Rolls just came out and needed some promotion. Quite original: brownish colour. -

Managed to get a really nice NOS GB stem and some nice bars to match also picked up a NOS seatpost
sorry if this project is boring, but it's fun trying to find the original equipment that went on the bike.

I'm doing the same^^, Carlton used mostly Campagnolo/GB/3ttt, and I've managed to get most of the (right)period components.
^^Doing well! -

That is just insulation tape for a bit of protection I am going to use cloth tape I may use some NOS Ambrosio tape not sure yet.

Damn nice project.
I would go for white cloth bar tape.
Did they really have those 1 bolt "patent" seat posts at that time ? -
• #22572
That frame is really nice KC. Things are definitely looking up!
-

Bought that of Blix?
yes i did. now that i hold it in my arms (no kidding, i hugged it in my arms tight last night) i think someone up there ^must seem to like at least one thing i did in life. i love that frame so much and haven't even ridden it yet. i went to some length to get it properly equipped. well within my possibilities that is, you see.
but ... well just wait, i'll leak another picture once i'm done wheelbuiding.
it'll come together. -

Just won this:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130364148831
Hopefully pick it up this weekend, then start planning the rebuild. I want to keep the feel of an old bike, but also have something that's practical to use regularly.
I've got a few ideas already: some NOS drop bars, a slim saddle and most likely strip down and respray.
Should I keep the SA hub, assuming it works properly?
Anyone got any other suggestions?
One of the nicest bikes I have seen.
Up for sale?
