Platini, you really are a complete twat. I seriously wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire.
The fact is that this guy meant something to some people and it's not for you to understand or approve of it. Personally I admire anyone who makes a positive contribution to the world and it just so happens that he was well-known and so it comes as a shock.
You mention war veterans. I've met dozens of Normandy veterans during the last year, some of whom have died, and they all have a great deal more humility than you you pretentious, arrogant wanker.
At least you can count on Will rushing to your defence no matter how much of a bellend you are. If your problem is that this has a thread while other more deserving (in your opinion) corpses have to share a different thread then you really need to get out more. As if it was ever a conscious decision based on any hierarchical merit.
